New Delhi: The Union minister for housing and urban affairs has approved proposals to change the Pradhan Mantri - Unauthorised Colony in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojna (PM-UDAY) regulations in order to remove some bottlenecks.
The PM-UDAY scheme to confer ownership rights to the residents of unauthorised colonies has seen a total of 1,05,076 applications, out of which a total of 14,705 applicants have received ownership rights till date, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) said in a statement.
DDA said that the ministry has approved the proposal to exclude ‘Will’ as a mandatory document for benefits under the scheme and has also allowed submission of ‘Registered Gift Deed’ in place of a general power of attorney (GPA)/agreement of sale (ATS) for availing benefits under the scheme.
Around 2,000 applications are awaiting clearance under PM-UDAY as currently ‘Will’ is a mandatory document. The amendment will facilitate simplification of the process and increase the number of applications, DDA said.
