When you’re as big of a star as Drake has been for the last decade-plus, getting into a rap beef comes with a ton of risk.
Many people and brands have invested millions of dollars into Drake’s talent and career. That’s not just the case on the music side — brands like Nike have endorsed the Toronto pop star through the years.
Right now? That endorsement isn’t looking so good.
Kendrick Lamar has seemingly done the impossible and turned the public against Drake, leading to more than 1 million dislikes on his latest response record “The Heart Part 6.”
It’s not just hurting Drake on the music side — he’s taking L’s on the business end, too.
His latest signature shoe with Nike, the NOCTA Hot Step II, was released on the SNKRS app Thursday. And, well, it looks like nobody wants these joints.
Almost every size was still available as of Thursday afternoon.

To be fair to Drake and Nike here, this isn’t like a hyped Jordan release. It wouldn’t sell out immediately. But for every size to be sitting there still? That’s not normal.
The comment section on posts about the shoes hasn’t been kind to Drake either.

Look, these NOCTA shoes aren’t the greatest. Nobody is going head over heels for a pair of white-on-white shoes. That’s not the vibe. But I do think it’s safe to say this beef isn’t just impacting Drake’s music at this point.
He might be better off just leaving things here before they get even worse.
