Legendary Celtic captain Scott Brown gave his verdict on the Arne Engels coin throwing incident at Ibrox on Thursday, admitting it's difficult to stop warped individuals who want to cause chaos.
The Ayr United boss pointed out that supporters who indulge in such bad behaviours are banned for life but he's also long enough in the tooth to know there's always ways around such rulings.
And Brown, who was targeted by crowds himself as a player, reckons the whole issue is a complex one to find an answer to.
He told Sportsound: "I think it's always hard. It's the individual. Somebody takes a coin to the game and throws it, nobody can stop that.

"You don't want that whether it's Celtic or Rangers or whomever. You don't want that. Part and parcel of the game is to go and support the club, if you do that and get caught you get barred for life and you end up losing out long term.
"It's different with UEFA and the way they handle it with closing grounds. Still, it kills a lot of the fans that way because still it is an individual who takes it upon himself. It's a hard thing to do. You ban them from the stadium but will they get back? Who knows. They can jump over the turnstiles, they can pay someone else's season ticket so it's a hard one for both the SFA and UEFA."
