Less than a day after the thrilling men's 100-meter final, the athletes are back at the Stade de France for the 200-meter heats. Among them is USA's Noah Lyles, who clinched his first Olympic gold medal by the slimmest of margins. Lyles secured a spot in the semifinals by winning his heat in a time of 20.19 seconds. Canada's defending champion in the 200m, Andre De Grasse, also progressed in the same heat with a time of 20.30.

The 200m holds a special place for Lyles, and fresh off his victory in the 100m, he is determined to surpass the bronze medal he earned at the Tokyo Olympics. Joining Lyles in the next round are Americans Erriyon Knighton and Kenny Bednarek, who posted the fastest time of the heats at 19.96 seconds. Letsile Tebogo from Botswana, who finished sixth in the 100m final, also advanced.

The men's 200m semifinals are set to take place on Wednesday, promising more excitement and fierce competition as these talented athletes vie for a coveted spot on the podium.
