A third trial of a Sydney swim coach accused of abusing young girls he was teaching will not go ahead.

The Crown applied to dismiss the case against 24-year-old Balgowlah man Kyle James Henk Daniels in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court on Friday.

A hearing to determine costs is scheduled for March.

Daniels had denied intentionally touching any student inappropriately during lessons at a Mosman swim school in 2018 and 2019, and was acquitted of 10 sexual abuse charges, including five alleging sexual assault in a retrial in October.

The jury was discharged after being unable to reach a verdict on the remaining 11 charges.
