There were no real surprises in the SWPL with all top six teams beating those in the bottom half of the table.
Partick Thistle continues to compound expectations with their third straight win consolidating their fourth-placed spot heading into the international break.
Fran Alonso’s Celtic took the prize for the most notable scoreline as they put a staggering 13 goals behind Aberdeen.
There were hat-tricks from Murphy Agnew and Amy Gallacher as well as a double from Natalie Ross. Colette Cavanagh, who started the scoring after just eight minutes, as well as Paula Partido, Chloe Craig, Clare Goldie and Caitlin Hayes all added their names to the scoresheet.
If the optics aren’t great for the competitiveness of the SWPL, there were inevitably no complaints from the Spaniard.
“It was very impressive,” he said. “We prepared very well all week and the girls worked really hard although I did not expect a performance or a result like that. It is absolutely incredible.
“This year Aberdeen have done so well and have one of the top scorers in the league. The way we pressed was fantastic and I am delighted.
“I don’t think I am exaggerating to say that it is one of the best performances since I have been here - it is a ten out of ten.
“I am proud and happy but we have not won anything. We have to take this into training. If we carry on with these standards then we are going to have a successful season.
“In the past sometimes we have praised the team after a strong first-half and then it has been flat. After that first goal in the second half they were back to playing at a high level with a high tempo and it would have been very hard to play against us.
“We worked on this all week and they executed it to perfection which is very rewarding.”
It is Rangers, though, who go into the break still unbeaten and still at the top of the SWPL after an empathic 7-0 win over Montrose.
It keeps them a point ahead of Celtic and eight ahead of Glasgow City. It has been a consistent start to the campaign for Jo Potter side with the former England international keen to highlight the incessant will to attack.
"We will always challenge them - they could have been a little bit more ruthless,” she said.
"We are not happy scoring just one or two. We want to keep going."
Reigning SWPL champions Glasgow City beat Dundee United 3-1 to make it six points from six this week, vital given the results of the last few weeks.
Both Edinburgh teams celebrated victories - Hearts thumped Hamilton Accies 6-1 while HIbs beat Spartans 4-1 but they lag behind Thistle in the table.
