Almost 3,000 Everton supporters will travel to Chelsea in another sensational show of support.
The Blues’ atrocious away record has seen fans clock up thousands of miles for little joy over a terrible run spanning two seasons and three managerial regimes. The poor form on the road continued on Wednesday with a 4-0 defeat at Arsenal.
The players will be greeted by yet another full away end when they return to London later this month, however. Everton have now confirmed the club’s allocation for Stamford Bridge has been sold out.

Everton travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday with Sean Dyche looking for his first positive away result at the third time of asking. His first opportunity at a team not chasing Champions League football comes against the side he perhaps knows better than any other opponent. Based nearby, he watched Steve Cooper’s side in its Championship promotion run-in following his dismissal from Burnley last season and was at the City Ground for Forest’s recent win over Leeds United.
If Everton fail to win on Sunday the club’s dismal away record will stretch to just two wins in 30 league games. Those wins were at Southampton this season and Leicester City late last season. The club has secured draws at Fulham, Brentford, Leeds and Manchester City during this campaign. Despite such little joy away from Goodison Park, 2,986 tickets have been sold for the Saturday evening trip to Chelsea.
After the Arsenal defeat, Dyche said work was ongoing to solve Everton’s away misery. Asked how he hoped to change it, he said: “You’ve got to bring a home mentality away. You’ve got to change the psyche of each individual because it spreads like wildfire - when you get players playing with that edge away from home, others join in. But someone has to start the process. No one gives it to you.
"The feeling at home is amazing, the fans have been exceptional since I got there. They were great again [at Arsenal] - to come all this way and be great again in their numbers. For 40 minutes they probably thought ‘alright, we are on it again'… All you can do is keep reinforcing it, all you can do is keep working with the players and help to give them that edge when they are away. But it’s been there a while. It’s not a new thing. It’s a work in progress.”
