People have praised a no-nonsense Leeds pub landlord who is on a mission to keep out “undesirables”.
Toby Flint, publican of The Scarbrough Hotel for 20 years, said "if you're barred, you're barred" and spoke out about what it takes to survive in the pub industry. The hard-headed gaffer spoke of how he’s not afraid to pull up his own sleeves and deal with mouthy customers himself, rather than let security initially handle it, in the Bishopgate Street boozer.
Readers have praised the “good job” of “lovely man” Toby who strives to create a good atmosphere for his punters. Toby himself stated how he has no greater pleasure of seeing customers return to his Leeds city centre pub, since moving over from Buckinghamshire and packing in his PHD in favour of a life in the hospitality sector.
