There will be no trains running between Newcastle Airport and South Gosforth on the Tyne and Wear Metro until Monday. Planned improvement works are taking place on the stretch of line, which contains eight stations in total.
Travellers have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys over the weekend. The number 900 replacement bus service will be stopping at or close to all of the stations in the affected area.
A statement on the Metro website said: “No trains are running between Airport and South Gosforth in either direction until Monday 21 March. Please use the replacement bus service 900, which is calling at or close to all stations in the affected area. Visit nexus.org.uk to check replacement bus and train times before travelling and please remember to leave extra time for your journey.”
