Roy Keane says the current Manchester United team look unrecognisable to the one that he played with during his time at the club.
United were unpicked by Liverpool in a 4-0 dismantling at Anfield on Tuesday night. It adds another dent to their top four quest as they remain three points behind Tottenham having played a game more.
The visitors were dominated by the Reds throughout the 90 minutes, compounding on their 5-0 humiliation in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford in October. Former United captain Keane was on Sky Sports punditry duty for the game and described his former employers as in “disarray” in an emotive summary of the situation.

“I think it was anger at the start at start the season, now I just think it is sadness,” he said. “You look at the team today, there was no heart, no soul, no leaders.
“They lacked quality, they were so far off. You look at the Manchester United fans, they don’t look surprised by the scoreline.”
He added: “They kept going to the end but you felt as though Liverpool could score whenever they wanted when they went forward. There is disarray at this football club, from the top to the bottom.”
Many of the United supporters who visited Anfield left long before the final whistle. Keane added that the disdain felt by the fans towards the owners which has disfigured the identity of the club.
He said: “The fans have got no time for the owners. They want new owners, a new manager and new players.
“It’s so sad to see because it is not the club I played for. It is not what Manchester United stood for when I played for them, it is just chalk and cheese.
“I don’t see a Manchester United team out there fighting or playing with pride.”
