Jurgen Klopp has hit out at comments made by Didi Hamann concerning the Liverpool manager's Anfield future.
The 2005 Champions League winner suggested this week that "at some stage, I think we will have that discussion about the manager and I’m not sure how far we are off that" after Klopp's side slipped 14 points behind Arsenal, who regained top spot in the Premier League with a 3-2 win at the Emirates on Sunday.
"This Liverpool team looks tired, they look pedestrian and they just look flat," Hamann, who played at Anfield between 1999-2006, told talkSPORT. "I’m not sure where the spark is going to come from because they’ve won games in the past."

Klopp was asked if he agrees with Hamann that Liverpool are missing "the spark" but the German fired a volley back at his compatriot with a sarcastic response at Ibrox ahead of Wednesday's Champions League meeting with Rangers.
“Who said that? Oh great! A fantastic source, well respected everywhere," Klopp said. "Hamann played for Liverpool [but] that does not give you the right to say what you want especially when you have no idea.
"I actually think Didi Hamann does not deserve that you use his phrase to ask a question. Do me a favour and ask your own question. Try to ask without using the word spark.”
Speaking about the Group A game itself in Glasgow, Klopp added: "Yes, [I'm expecting a different game to last week] but not because of our European experience but because we are human beings.
"In the Champions League there is always this middle tie where you play home and away against the same opponent and quite frequently, we have won the home game and found the away game difficult. Do I have to remind them? I don’t know. But will I remind them? Yes."
