The Arizona Cardinals were active free agency last offseason. They also did not really lose any significant players.
As a result, in Over the Cap’s projections for compensatory selections in the 2025 NFL draft, the Cardinals are not projected to receive any.
Why not?
Last offseason, they signed six free agents who counted in the compensatory formula, while they lost only one.
Receiver Hollywood Brown, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, was the only qualifying free agent to leave.
The Cardinals signed tackle Jonah Williams, cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, offensive lineman Evan Brown, linebacker Mack Wilson and defensive linemen Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols.
They were minus-five in the compensatory formula.
Their signings of running back DeeJay Dallas and receiver Chris Moore, per these projections, did not factor into the compensatory formula, nor did the loss of defensive lineman Leki Fotu, who signed a one-year contract with the New York Jets.
So unless they make a trade before the draft, the Cardinals will have their own selection in each of the first five rounds, none in the sixth round and one in the seventh round they acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in a trade for linebacker Cameron Thomas.
