A non-league football club have joked that they have 'no comment' to make regarding Edinson Cavani spending time in their local area at the weekend.
Cavani, 35, missed Manchester United's goalless draw with Watford in the Premier League on Saturday through injury but was spotted in Bakewell, Derbyshire, less than 24 hours later.
Bakewell Town FC took to social media to post a picture that Cavani had shared of himself in the Peak District town enjoying the sunshine on Sunday afternoon.
The club, who play in the Central Midlands Football League, joked: "The club have no comment to make at this time," along with the photo upload of the Uruguayan forward.
United were made to miss Cavani in their weekend draw with Watford at Old Trafford and will be hoping to have the veteran forward fit for the trip to face Man City at the end of this week.
Speaking ahead of the goalless draw interim manager Ralf Rangnick provided an update on Cavani and injured midfielder Scott McTominay.
“The situation is exactly the same,” Rangnick told official club media.
“He [Cavani] hasn't been training with us so he won't be available for tomorrow's game and the same is true with Scotty.
"He is still ill, he hasn't been training with us, so hopefully he will start training with us again next week, but for tomorrow's game they will both be unavailable.”
