The Miami Dolphins downed the New York Giants 31-16 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, improving their record to 4-1 on the season.
Mike McDaniel’s team earned another victory against New York that was a complete domination on the defensive side of the ball, as they recorded seven sacks and held Daniel Jones and company out of the end zone for all four quarters.
Buy Dolphins TicketsWith the season in full swing, Touchdown Wire’s Jarrett Bailey is producing weekly power rankings, and after falling back to No. 4 in last week’s edition, the Dolphins have remained in the same spot in this edition.
Here’s what Bailey wrote about Miami after their win over the Giants:
“The Dolphins’ offense got back on track by beating a dreadful Giants team. The only reason the score was as close as it was (which still wasn’t close at all) is thanks to a pick-six for New York off a deflected pass. Miami’s offense is one of the best in NFL history through five weeks, but we need to see them beat a really good team.”
The only teams ahead of the Dolphins at this point are the Buffalo Bills (No. 3), Kansas City Chiefs (No. 2) and San Francisco 49ers (No. 1).
Perhaps the most surprising this is that they remain in front of the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (No. 6), who the Dolphins will see in Week 7.
