Manchester United supporters have served up mixed reactions as Chelsea appear to be closing in on a loan swoop for wantaway Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix.
Felix, 23, had been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this month as a possible replacement for his Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club for a second time under controversial circumstances. But it now seems as though those involved are set to pursue a different route.
United continue to work on a loan deal for Wout Weghorst, although there are complications there, as the Burnley striker has no recall clause in his Besiktas agreement. Weghorst has grabbed nine goals in 18 matches for the Turkish giants so far this season on loan.

As for Felix, meanwhile, his immense talent has not resulted in regular numbers throughout his time in Madrid and the former Benfica man has fallen out of favour under Diego Simeone this campaign. It is also understood that their strained working relationship is beyond repair.
As such, several Premier League sides including United were thought to be tracking the Portuguese forward with a view to signing him on loan this month. Chelsea look set to have won that race, though, with Arsenal also reckoned to be in the chase for his signature.
Reports from The Athletic suggest Chelsea will pay around €11million (£9.7m) to sign Felix on loan for the rest of the season, while other publications have followed up on that agreement. It had been claimed that CEO, Richard Arnold, told the player that the number 7 shirt vacated by Ronaldo was "ready for him" at Old Trafford.
However, that will not be the case. Here are some comments from popular social media platform Twitter as United and Chelsea supporters have their say on the impending switch.
