Detective Constable David Forde, of Coatbridge CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are looking to identify a man seen at the time. He is described as of slim build and was wearing all back clothing with his hood up. Enquiries so far have established that he went in the direction of Burleigh Street.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen anyone in this area before or afterwards to get in touch with police."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting reference number 0043 of Saturday, April 15.

Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
