Ben Shephard has revealed that he and the rest of the Ninja Warrior UK team were left in tears on the set of the ITV show, due to the heroics of a hugely inspirational contestant.

That is when talk turned to another inspirational person, Matt Armitage, who has now appeared on the show twice.
Talking about the filming, Ben told Lorraine: "The competitors are remarkable; the elite Ninjas that we had this time round have changed the game and then Matt Armitage, who we had in the first episode - the first ever amputee to beat the wall."
As a clip of Matt in action played on screen, Ben continued: "This is a moment that transcends the whole experience. He lost his leg in a motorbike accident; he'd been on Ninja Warrior a few years previously; lost his leg in a motorbike accident and wanted to come back and prove he could get up the Wolf Wall."
The presenter added: "And he does it. Lorraine, everyone in the studio was in tears when he got to the top of the wall. He ripped his leg off in celebration! It was one of the most extrodinary moments of television I've ever...talk about joy and inspiration and hope."
