Ninja has sent an urgent warning to shoppers who are thinking of purchasing one of their popular air fryers to help cook healthy and energy-efficient meals.
As families continue to feel the crunch from the cost of living crisis, many have been switching up their cooking habits in a bid to reduce their energy usage in the kitchen. This has led to a huge surge in demand for air fryers - particularly those from Ninja - as they have been proven to use less energy and can cook food that bit quicker.
The popularity for the kitchen gadget has led Ninja to warn shoppers not to pick up their branded air fryers from anywhere else following a rise in fraudulent websites, reports HullLive.
The air fryer manufacturer has become aware that some websites have been offering their air fryers at reduced prices to lure in shoppers who are looking for affordable versions.
BirminghamLive has seen some websites offering expensive air fryers for almost 70 per cent off. One website appears to show the Ninja Max Foodi which normally retails for £249 for just £79.
Shoppers have been using social media to warn others. A spokesperson for Ninja said: “Following an unprecedented surge in demand for Ninja products, particularly our Air Fryers, we have become aware of a rise in fraudulent websites appearing to offer our products at greatly reduced prices.
“We would recommend any new or existing customers only purchase goods through the official Ninja website or via a reputable retail partner to ensure you receive our 5 star rated products as ordered.”
