Team Ninja, the studio behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, is seemingly interested in reviving both franchises.
According to Korean website Ruliweb, Team Ninja president Fumihiko Yasuda spoke at the G-Star Conference about possibly resurrecting Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive (thanks, VGC). He gave no firm details about what the company is planning but assured fans that more information is possibly coming soon. It’s pretty vague stuff.
However, during a presentation at the show, Yasuda included a slide with screenshots from both franchises along with a caption that reads, “The future of Team Ninja – Reboot of popular series,” which you can check out below.
During a presentation at G-Con x IGC this weekend, Team NINJA's Fumihiko Yasuda held a presentation feat. a slide suggesting reboots of Ninja Gaiden / Dead or Alive are planned. We've reached out to Koei Tecmo for clarification / are awaiting a response.https://t.co/8NgViGX8LR pic.twitter.com/KEeKmakLYl

Yasuda began teasing the possibility of bringing Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive back from the dead earlier this year. However, he said those hypothetical projects would need to “exceed” fan expectations before anything gets the greenlight. It’s curious timing, to say the least!
It’s not terribly surprising that Yasuda would speak in such vague terms. Currently, Team Ninja is developing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Rise of the Ronin. So taking on yet another lengthy development is possibly out of the question for Team Ninja.
