An upcoming update set for February 2025 will add balance adjustments and new features to "Ninja Gaiden 2 Black."
Developer Team Ninja announced the patch in a post on X, but the studio provided little information about what it would come with specifically. Fans have already started to comment on the post about what kind of features they want to see.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Update
These include options to adjust camera movement as well as a more traditional new game plus option for the game. However, Team Ninja has only said that it would address "feedback" received so far.
Additionally, the studio did not reveal an official release date for the upcoming update for "Ninja Gaiden 2 Black." Team Ninja said they were preparing a patch aimed for a mid-February release that would address some of the feedback they have recently received.
The game shadow dropped last week on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game also got a small update with version 1.0.6.0 that comes with two specific changes.
These include a fix for an issue that removed DLSS and XeSS resolution options for copies that were purchased through the Microsoft Store, according to IGN.
Balance Adjustments and New Features
The other one was that there was a fix for a "rare" problem that seemingly stopped progress for players following specific bosses within the game. Team Ninja released "Ninja Gaiden 2 Black" alongside an announcement of development work on "Ninja Gaiden 4."
While the latter is set for a release sometime in fall 2025, the remake of the second "Ninja Gaiden" game is already here. It has already made quite an impression on fans of the franchise and has received widespread praise.
Some fans also want the upcoming patch for "Ninja Gaiden 2 Black" to make the game more like the original and make it harder. This would include more and tougher enemies trying to kill players, PCGamer said.
Others argued that the game sorely needs balance adjustments right now because it is just a step away from being the definitive version of the action classic.
On top of these, some players mentioned their desire to have the ability to take on Tag missions without AI assistance.
They also expressed their hopes for performance improvements and previously released content to return to "Ninja Gaiden 2 Black" and more.
Fans are currently working hard to complete various achievements for the game and are enjoying the remake so far, according to Insider Gaming.
