Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review: a reliable choice with a super fast boiling time

Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review.

Not many people realise that Ninja makes kettles alongside its famous air fryers, but I can confirm the rumours are true. The Ninja Perfect Temperature Kettle was launched in 2022, featuring six preset temperature settings ranging from 60°C to 100°C that cater to a variety of beverages. So, if you frequently switch between a classic cuppa and a strong coffee brew, this kettle could be a game-changer.

On my quest to find the best kettles, I decided to put this big-name appliance to the test, and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. With the Ninja Luxe Café holding a permanent place in my kitchen, the Perfect Temperature Kettle initially seemed a little underwhelming in comparison – but don’t let its appearance fool you.

Read on for my full review. Who knows? I might just convince you to give it a try.

Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review: price and availability

The Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle has an RRP of £99.99 ($89.99) and can be purchased from a number of retailers, including Argos, Currys and Ninja's online store.

It comes in black, stainless steel or white, all of which offer the same functionality.

Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review: design and features

The full name of this kettle is actually the Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle Rapid Boil, which gives a pretty good clue about its standout feature. It can boil a single cup in under 50 seconds, and whilst this isn't the fastest we’ve seen, it’s still impressively quick. One of its most useful features is the Hold Temp button, which maintains your selected water temperature for up to 30 minutes.

The kettle also offers an impressive temperature range with six pre-set options from 60°C to 100°C, catering to a variety of beverages. According to Ninja’s user guide, 60°C to 90°C is ideal for specialty teas such as green, white and oolong, whilst 95°C works best for French press and instant coffee. The 100°C setting is perfect for black tea, English breakfast or hot chocolate, but if you're like me and frequently fill a hot water bottle, the 70°C setting is incredibly handy.

The intuitive base design features simple controls, and the illuminated water window allows for easy filling with markings for up to 1.7L or seven cups. The digital control panel automatically enters sleep mode after five minutes of inactivity, adding a layer of energy efficiency.

A unique touch is the jingle that alerts you when your water is ready. However, I have to say that it’s identical to the chime used in other Ninja appliances, so I wouldn't recommend using your kettle and air fryer at the same time. Yes, I am speaking from experience.

Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review: performance

Testing the Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle was an absolute pleasure, as it offers everything you’d want in a high-quality kettle. The temperature variety was particularly useful, offering a level of precision that many other kettles lack. However, my favourite feature was the Hold Temp function, as I often forget I’ve boiled the kettle and would previously have to reboil it 20 minutes later. Since kettles are known for their high energy consumption, this feature saves both time and money.

In terms of design, the sleek matte black finish looks stylish, and I personally love having the controls integrated into the base. However, I did notice that the matte finish marks easily, especially in a high-limescale area like mine. In hindsight, I would have opted for the stainless steel or white version, so if you also deal with limescale issues, this is something to consider.

Throughout my testing, I never encountered a single performance issue, particularly with the temperature accuracy. Whilst it may not be the most visually striking kettle on the market, it delivers exactly what it promises and is undoubtedly a strong contender if you're in the market for a new model.

Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review: verdict

The Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle is packed with features that make it a top-performing choice. Its Hold Temp function is incredibly convenient, and the six pre-set temperature options ensure the perfect brew for any beverage. The matte black finish adds a sleek, modern touch, though it can show marks easily, especially in high-limescale areas. However, with two additional colour options available, you can easily find one that best suits you.

Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle review: alternatives to consider

If you're after a kettle that offers a bit more style, I highly recommend the Smeg KLF03. Whilst it comes with a premium price tag, if you love classic retro design, it’s hard to beat. It also has several limescale-preventing features, making it a great choice for areas with hard water.

Another solid alternative is the KitchenAid Variable Temperature Kettle 5KEK1722. With its sleek design and adjustable temperature settings, it’s an excellent choice that’s also more budget-friendly than the Ninja.
