This summer, nine year old Pixie Armstrong will be hoping to display her skills to the full when she goes head to head against thousands of other children from across the globe in the international Dance World Cup.
The youngster from West Boldon landed her place at the event thorough judging processes - in which she beat thousands of other English talents for the chance to represent her country in San Sebastian, Spain, on June 24.
And it makes it more impressive that Pixie has only been putting herself forward for national championships for the last year or so, obtaining multiple prestigious accolades throughout her short journey so far.

Pixie moved to the Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts based in South Shields aged seven, after staring dancing as a hobby four years earlier. Her championship journey only started in July last year, due to the global Coronavirus pandemic putting a halt to most social based-activities worldwide.
Speaking to Chronicle Live about her journey, Pixie's mother, Sasha, said: "She's been competing since she was four but obviously not on that level. Just this year alone, she's made 14 finals and since starting her championship run she's made 23.
"She's got seven titles since July last year. She's got four in Tap, two in Ballet, she's got a title in Song and Dance, and she's got eight runner up titles which is just incredible."
She continued: "I'm unbelievably proud of her - I didn't think in a million years that she would get to this level.
"She did competitions before we went to the new school and she never even had a leader, but now she's competing against some of the best kids in England. She's doing phenomenal.
"She's also been nominated for a Classique de Dance awards which is like a huge deal. I originally thought she'd only been put forward for one category, but then I read the letter and she's been put forward for a Junior Theatre Award and a Junior Ballet Theatre Award which is a classic award - it's like the Oscar's of the dance world."
Speaking on her road to the Dance World Cup, Sasha also mentioned that the school Pixie is a part of has been competing in the prestigious event for the last five years. To put her amongst the pickings, Pixie had to submit a video entrance which was scrutinised by a panel of professional adjudicators alongside thousands of others.
And as well as her success this year in being picked for the competition, she also qualified in last year's Dance World Cup as a solo act.
Sasha added: "Last year she qualified for Tap solo - obviously she was pretty young to it and it was her first experience. So she competed last year for the school as well, and this year she has qualified top in England for her Tap.
"She's also qualified for a Show Dance - which is like a Jazz routine - in second place, and she's also qualified for Tap duet which is again, top in England. Then she's also qualified for ten group routines.
"The school itself have also qualified for over 60 routines which is incredible."
And although all roads now lead to a coveted world title for Pixie, she faces adversities to actually get to the competition itself.
Funds are short and Pixie and the school are now depending on the support of selfless individuals across the North East to help get them to Spain.
Local entrepreneur, Paul Rowe has in-turn stepped up to support Pixie and her teammates with a fundraiser at his cabaret bar in Newcastle Upon Tyne on Sunday, May 1st at The Typsy Cow on Blandford Street.
From 3pm, live entertainment from one of the regions best known entertainers Janie Mackenzie - herself a former child TV star of Biker Grove to The Likely Lads - will be joined by a host of cabaret from across the region. The event will also be hosted by the city's best known Drag Cabaret star, Miss Vicky Paris.
Alongside the entertainment is the fundraising raffle to be drawn at the event - with a weeks holiday to Benidorm in Spain, dinner vouchers for the YOLO Townhouse, luxury hampers and many more up for grabs.
