Nine unmissable Glasgow events for Halloween you should pre-book for now

They say Halloween is for children, but the truth is - it's far more fun when you're a grown up.

Deciding what to do is the tricky part, but we've got you covered. From spooky ceilidh dancing to frighteningly fabulous drag queens, there's an endless list of unmissable events happening in Glasgow over Halloween - but we've narrowed it down to nine.

Grab your cat ears, lather on some fake blood and prepare for one of the massive Halloween parties scheduled for next month. Just take your pick from the list below.

October 27 - Halloween Ceilidh @ The Tall Ship

Come aboard for an evening of spooky ceilidh dancing, on The Tall Ship right on the Clyde.

Tickets include a free drink, for an extra dark and moody October night. In collaboration with Deoch N’ Dorus, expect a night filled with merriment and ghostly Gay Gordons.

October 28 - Saved By The 90s Halloween Party @ Slay Glasgow

The ultimate 90s night is coming to Glasgow for a Halloween special.

Spice Up Your Life and go Dancing In The Moonlight to greatest hits of the 90s. Tunes from the Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, NSYNC, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, S-Club 7, Christina Aguilera and many more are to be expected.

It goes without saying that fancy dress is encouraged. If your birthday is between October 14 and 31, you can get free entry to the event - more information is available here.

October 28 - Festival of The Dead @ O2 Academy

Europe’s biggest touring Halloween show is returning to the O2 Academy, with an eclectic mix of circus, clubbing and carnival.

With a soundtrack including rock, metal and electronic music - revellers will also enjoy world class fire and aerialist performers as well as four metre tall puppets. Carnival processions will make their way through the audience, with immersive decor around the event.

3000 tickets are on offer for the event, which organisers say fancy dress is ‘go big or go home’, and are available for purchase here.

October 28 - Down The Rabbit Hole @ Òran Mór

A psychedelic wonderland is coming to Òran Mór, promising the ‘biggest and most immersive’ Halloween night in the city.

Organisers warn to ‘expect the unexpected’ with all sorts of wonderfully bizarre sights and wild antics. From playing in the caterpillars garden, to meeting a ten feet tall Mad Hatter, or dancing with giant inflatable rabbits - there’s much to explore at Down The Rabbit Hole.

October 28, 29 & 30 - Halloween @ Cathouse

Three nights of spooky fun are coming to the Cathouse.

As the club says, they don’t do Halloween in half measures - and are planning big decor, costume competitions and themed drinks. Booth Bundles are available for all three nights, which includes 10 tickets, a venom tower and free entry before midnight.

October 29 - Halloween Pressure @ SWG3

Freaks and ghouls assemble at SWG3 for the annual techno spooktacular.

With a line-up including Slam, SPFDJ, Wallis, øtta, Taahliah, Aisha and Farnaz. Held in the Galvanizers space, tickets are on sale now and available here.

October 30 - Halloween With Lawrence @ AXM Glasgow

Winner of Drag Race UK Season 2, Lawrence Chaney, is heading to AXM for a night of spooktacular fun.

Expect an evening of frighteningly fabulous drag performances, stage games, giveawaysand Halloween fancy dress competitions - with a £100 cash prize. Support acts are still to be confirmed, though tickets are on sale now here.

October 31 - Rocky Horror Drag-A-Long @ Slay Glasgow

Drag Queens, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a singalong - what more could you want.

With a huge HD screen, the club will be projecting the movie alongside performances from eight of Scotland’s ‘best drag artists’. I’ve you’re shivering with antici…pation - get your tickets here.

October 31 - Halloween Purge Glasgow @ TBC

The eight annual Halloween Purge will be coming to Glasgow, with revellers warned to expect the ‘biggest and scariest’ night of the year.

With scary interactive walkabout acts, amazing Halloween lighting, immersive purge visuals, and professional Halloween make-up artists - it’s sure to be a night you won’t forget. All Halloween dress will be accepted on the door, from superheroes to cartoon characters.

The best dressed on the night will receive special purge VIP treatment and a creepy prize. The venue is still to be confirmed, though it will be in Glasgow’s city centre.
