Nine people were arrested inside Fiddlers Ferry power station on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
Cheshire Police confirmed this morning, Saturday, February 11 that nine people had been arrested at the decommissioned power station. A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said response officers from Warrington and a K9 unit had been deployed to Fiddlers Ferry where they found nine people on the site.
The spokesperson said: "Response officers and a K9 unit have arrested 9 individuals at Fiddlers Ferry power station for an allegation of criminal damage. It is a very bad idea to go on site here."

A photo taken by the arresting officers showed at least three vehicles at Fiddlers Ferry. The power station is found near the banks of the Mersey between Warrington and Widnes.
The power station was decommissioned in March 2020. Redevelopment company Peel NRE bought Fiddlers Ferry from energy firm SSE Thermal in June 2022. It was the last of SSE's coal-fire power plants. A majority of the site's buildings, including the control room and cooling towers, were boarded up to keep urban explorers out.
The power plant is expected to be demolished by a controlled explosion at the end of 2023. Warrington Town Council designated the land where the old power plant is for a mixed-use site of homes and industrial floor space.
