Rangers have reportedly made an offer for former player Nikola Katic.
The defender is into the final 18 months of his contract at FC Zurich.
It's believed that the 28-year-old is pushing to leave the Swiss club.
Philippe Clement is still believed to be looking to bolster his squad ahead of next Monday's transfer deadline, with his defence marred by injuries this season.
Portuguese defender Rafael Fernandes is the only arrival at Ibrox so far this month, having joined on loan from Lille in France.
Leon Balogun, John Souttar, Dujon Sterling and Neraysho Kasanwirjo are all currently out of action through injury, with Robin Propper the only recognised first-choice centre-back.
Clinton Nsiala and Leon King have recently been promoted from the B team to help Rangers in their need for squad options.
And it seems the Scottish Premiership club may turn to Katic as an alternative.
Swiss media outlet, Watson, claims that the powerful centre-back has received an offer from Rangers.
Katic previously played in a Light Blues shirt between 2018 and 2022, having been signed by Steven Gerrard.
Injuries hampered his time in Glasgow after a strong start. He is best remembered for scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Celtic Park in 2019.
