Nikola Jokic flashed a rare smile when presented with his first NBA championship ring

Two-time NBA MVP and reigning NBA Finals MVP big man Nikola Jokic was presented with his first championship ring on Tuesday evening.

Jokic is known around the league for his relatively serious demeanor both on and off the court. A bit awkward while at parties, he clearly wanted to go home (but he thankfully changed his mind!) after actually winning the title with Denver back in June.

Although he is not motivated by individual awards like winning the Most Valuable Player, championships are clearly important to him. After enjoying his offseason at home in Serbia, the 28-year-old superstar seemed satisfied to have a championship ring.

Jokic, who continues to shatter all analytics measures of how to measure impact and success on a basketball court, is one of the most important players in the NBA.

He is the most valuable player against the spread, per research from Bet For The Win’s Ben Fawkes, and now he has the ring to show that he is able to do it during the playoffs as well.

Hopefully, however, the big man actually remembers where he kept his ring. Jokic claimed that he didn’t even know where his MVP trophy was stored.
