Nike shoes worth £400k robbed from service station as Lanarkshire cops launch appeal

Nike shoes worth in excess of £400,000 have been stolen from a lorry at Abington Services.

Now police are asking for help from drivers who may have dash-cam footage of the incident.

Officers are appealing for information following the theft between 5pm on Wednesday and 4.30am on Thursday morning (February 24).

Around 4000 pairs of shoes were stolen, with the vehicle, and two others parked nearby, damaged during the theft.

DC Heather Anderson told Lanarkshire Live : “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and officers are checking for CCTV footage to try to establish descriptions of those responsible.

“I would urge anyone who has information or who saw anything suspicious to contact Police Scotland.

"No matter how insignificant is may have seemed at the time, it could be vital to our investigation.

“In particular, I would ask motorists with dash-cams who were in the area at the time to check their footage. It is possible that it could have recorded something which could assist in our ongoing enquiries”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101.

Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.
