Nike basketball seemingly forgot the WNBA exists and hoops fans immediately ripped them for it

The Nike basketball social media account posted an awfully bone-headed tweet about no more basketball for the next week, and WNBA fans immediately clowned them for it.

The Mavs finally unraveled the Timberwolves on Thursday, which means that NBA basketball will not come on again until June 6. Nike, attempting to capitalize on the seemingly short basketball drought, posted a since-deleted tweet to X (formerly Twitter) to pout over it.

There’s just one problem — there’s plenty of basketball until then. THE WNBA STILL EXISTS. There are actually over 15 games until the Mavs and Celtics play in the NBA Finals, including a Caitlin-Clark, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso matchup that will likely be absolute cinema.

Update: Under Armour reached another level of petty. They released a thread schedule of when all of their WNBA athletes play over the next week.
