Nightclub patron accused of assaulting venue security and fleeing

A club-goer who visited One22 in Civic is wanted by police for allegedly assaulting a security guard inside the venue.

ACT Policing said the man was a patron at the bar on Alinga Street when he allegedly carried out the attack just after midnight on July 26.

He is believed to have been there with two other males who accompanied him when he allegedly fled the scene on foot.

ACT Policing have released a photo of the accused man and described him as Caucasian in appearance, with a solid build, brown hair and beard, dark eyes, with sleeve tattoos down both arms.

The man was wearing a light khaki green T-shirt and jeans at the time of the alleged attack.

"Police would like to speak to anyone who can identify the man from the image, or who may have witnessed the assault on Friday, 26 July," a police spokesperson said.

Anyone with information that could help police was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. They have been requested to quote reference 7808417. They said information could be provided anonymously.
