Ghana and Nigeria battle in the decisive second leg of their World Cup play-off in Abuja tonight.
After a 0-0 draw in Kumasi on Friday, two of African football’s traditional heavyweights head for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium where Nigeria will be hoping that home advantage can inspire them to book their place in Qatar at the end of the year.
There was little to split them in the first leg, albeit Moses Simon went the closest for the Super Eagles, who also saw a penalty decision overturned by VAR.
With away goals still in play for the qualifiers, it’s a slight advantage for Ghana. Should the Black Stars score, it will leave Nigeria needing to twice find the back of the net to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
