Nigel Owens sings Frank Sinatra classic in final goodbye to BBC radio stars Scott Mills and Chris Stark

Welsh rugby icon Nigel Owens provided a TMO-inspired rendition of 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra in a final goodbye to BBC Radio 5 Live presenters Scott Mills and Chris Stark.

Mills and Stark have been hugely popular figures on Radio 1 with their afternoon show on the BBC. However, they also ran a Saturday morning show on Radio 5 Live, and last weekend, the duo completed their last-ever show.

Going out in style on the sporting airwaves, Nige was on again for his regular segment 'Real Life TMO' to say au revoir to the infamous pair. The segment involves the iconic referee solving listeners' issues.

Mills and Stark completed the show with the Real Life TMO segment, saying they couldn't believe 'the world's greatest rugby referee' agreed to regularly come on to their show when they started out.

"He used his refereeing skills to sort out all your - often- very minor arguments and disputes. We called it Real Life TMO, and so, as his decision is always final, the last words should go to him," said Mills.

"Absolutely. Now let's level with everyone Scott, here's the situation. We've acquired this recording, we haven't actually heard this yet," explained Stark.

"I've been assured this is going to be a fitting tribute to us, take it away Sir Nigel Owens!"

Nige signed the duo off the show with a brilliant personal rendition of My Way by Sinatra.

"And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain,

"Each week, on TMO, you state your case, I put the ref shirt on,

"I ruled on your disputes, lay down the law but in a kind way,

"And I made sure, that in the end, you did it my way,

"Yes there were times, I’m sure you could tell,

"When your disputes, were pointless as hell,

"But through it all, when there was doubt,

"I heard it all and figured it out,

"Let the record show, I’m the TMO and you did it my way

Yes you did it Nigey’s way!”

Stark posted the clip to Twitter, to which Nige replied: "It truly was an honour and privilege to be a small part of your wonderful show Chris Stark and Scott Mills."

"Thank you so much for having me and the very best for the future my friends."

Their final Radio 1 show is scheduled for Thursday, August 25, so it isn't the last we will see of Scott and Chris just yet. However, they have signed out in style with a personal harmony from Welsh legend Nige.
