The National Institute of Fisheries Post Harvest Technology and Training (NIFPHATT) under the Union Department of Fisheries organised a workshop on Matsya Sampada Jagrukta Abhiyan with the purpose of disseminating the knowledge acquired by it in the fisheries sector and highlighting the success stories of the Department of Fisheries and its institutions across the country.
A. Gopalakrishnan, Director, ICAR- Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), while inaugurating the workshop, stressed the importance of effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) across the country. He said it had been designed to address critical gaps in the fisheries value chain from fish production, productivity, and quality to technology, post-harvest infrastructure, and marketing.
