Nicole Scherzinger's sultry desert video reminds fans of Pussycat Dolls hit

Nicole Scherzinger took to the desert and reminded fans of The Pussycat Dolls' in their noughties' hey day.

The 43-year-old singer posted a short clip and a series of sultry photographs on Instagram with the footage and images reminiscent of the music video for the girl band's 2008 ballad I Hate This Part.

Back then Nicole was joined by bandmates Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Kimberly Wyatt in the desert for a video that has been streamed more than 100 million times but, now, she has whipped up a sand storm of her own.

To a soundtrack of Kanye West' s Ultraviolet Beam, the video sees Nicole, dressed in a flowery cut-out dress and with her back to the camera, approach and walk through a door-less Greco-Roman style wooden door frame in the desert. Moving slowly with benches to her left and right, she then throws her right arm in the air and caresses her shiny dark locks.

Nicole goes on to stretch both arms over her head before spinning around to reveal perfectly-toned legs in a pair of black buckle leather boots, while putting her hands together in a praying motion. Finally, she arcs herself backwards with her face looking at the camera before springing forward as the video, which is captioned "Keep the faith", comes to an end.

Fans quickly rushed to leave comments with one writing: "I don’t know why, but this kind of reminds me of I Hate This Part music video. Anyway, thank you for this my love."

Others had also drawn the same comparisons when Nicole, who has 5.2 million followers on Insta, posted a series of 10 similarly-themed pictures in the same breathtaking location. The first four pictures again featured the door-less door frame, while the next two saw Nicole, with red lipstick on, posing amid big rock boulders.

The final four images then focused on a stunning sunset over the desert plains. Nicole posted the photographs alongside the words: "The desert bringing out the warrior goddess in me" and, on seeing the first shot of Nicole standing in the door frame, artist Danny Minnick simply quipped: "That is a framed masterpiece."

Another said: "Desert warrior queen! Love the sunset in one of the pics. I'm getting I Hate This Park/Xanadu (the dress) vibes." Two more posters, meanwhile, added: "I Hate This Part vibes" and "I Hate This Part 2.0."

The pictures received just under 40,000 likes during their first day of being posted, while the video attracted just under 7,000 within three hours.
