As Nicole Scherzinger gets ready to tie the knot, it appears this Pussycat Doll has her claws out.
Nicole, 45, announced her engagement to Scottish rugby player, Thom Evans in June and even though she rose to fame with the band The Pussycat Dolls, it's reported she isn't inviting any of the members to her wedding.
The former X Factor judge was the centre of the drama when it came to the band. The group broke up in 2010 after reports that the other band members were unhappy that Nicole was seen as the lead singer. In 2019, they tried to reform the band and released the song "React."
"Nicole doesn't want to invite one and not another, only for those missing out to start causing trouble," a source told Heat Magazine. "There's so much toxic energy from that part of her life, she doesn't want to bring any of it into her dream wedding."
Relationships within the band took a turn for the worse in 2021 when the creator of the group, Robin Antin, sued Nicole for breach of contract. He stated that she refused to participate in a reunion tour if she wasn't paid more than her other band members.
"There's still so much bad blood there, it would be reckless to chance any of them turning up to the wedding," the source added. "Nicole feels unfairly painted as the villain just because she was the better singer of the group and she doesn't have time for that pettiness anymore."
It doesn't seem like the drama is bothering Nicole anymore however, as she seems absolutely in love with her new fiance. And Thom seems absolutely enthralled with her as well. The singer posted about her engagement on Instagram, sharing the proposal photos with the caption "I said yes."
The source revealed Thom has been very supportive of his wife-to-be and is letting her take the lead with the wedding planning.
Other members of the Pussycat Dolls included Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thorton. They quickly rose to fame and became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, but a reunion doesn't seem likely, especially at Nicole's wedding.
Nicole and Thom have been together since January 2020. Previously she dated Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton and Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov.
