An opulent coastal setting, a dead body, a bunch of quick shots of police interrogations, and Nicole Kidman - these are the elements that make up the upcoming star-studded Netflix limited series, The Perfect Couple. Scheduled to premiere on September 5, the series has just released a full trailer that offers a glimpse into the intriguing storyline.
The plot revolves around the affluent Winbury family, led by novelist Greer (portrayed by Kidman) and her husband, Tag (played by Liev Schreiber). The family is preparing for the wedding of their son Benji (Billy Howle) to Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson) when a dead body is discovered on the beach, throwing everyone into a state of suspicion as secrets begin to unravel.
The trailer showcases various scenes of police interrogations, reminiscent of the tension and drama seen in the first season of Big Little Lies, which also starred Kidman. The series promises a guilty-pleasure experience, underscored by an ironic soundtrack and enticing title cards inviting viewers to indulge in the most shocking show on TV.
In addition to Kidman and Schreiber, the cast includes Dakota Fanning, Jack Reynor, Ishaan Khatter, Meghann Fahy, Sam Nivola, Mia Isaac, and Isabelle Adjani. The Perfect Couple is an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Elin Hilderbrand, with Jenna Lamia serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside director Susanne Bier, Shawn Levy, Gail Berman, Hend Baghdady, Per Saari, and Josh Barry.
