Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban are reportedly considering moving back to their native Australia from the US after a difficult year.
Kidman’s mother Janelle died aged 84 in September and the actress, 57, returned to Sydney last month for the funeral.
Amid the personal tragedy, she has been busy jetting around the US promoting her latest movies and filming a new project.
Her family and friends are said to be worried the Big Little Lies star is suffering from “burnout”, as sources claimed Kidman and country singer Urban are contemplating a permanent move back home.
“Nicole and Keith have had their worst year ever, they've barely spent any time together and she's been on her own throughout some of her most distressing times,” a source told Woman's Day magazine.
“The big worry on everyone's minds is, how much more of this can she take?”
Urban, 57, is reportedly considering stepping back from touring to support Kidman after his 10-date Las Vegas residency ends in February.
The Standard has contacted Kidman’s representatives for comment.
Kidman was joined by Urban and their daughters Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, at her mother’s funeral in October and was reunited with her younger sister Antonia at the service.
The family later flew back to Los Angeles together.
Janelle died last month just hours before Kidman won Best Actress for her role in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival.
Kidman and Urban - who married in 2006 - currently split their time between their homes in Nashville, Beverly Hills, and New York.
The couple still own properties in Australia, including a farmhouse in the Southern Highlands and two penthouses in Sydney, which they lease out.
Kidman has been busy promoting her new thriller, Babygirl, opposite British actor Harris Dickinson, which will be released in December, and has attended numerous red carpet events this month.
Kidman’s tense exchange with Salma Hayek at the Balenciaga show in September during Paris Fashion Week went viral after footage appeared to show her pushing Hayek’s hand away, pointing at her and saying, “Don’t touch me”.
She is currently filming the six-part crime series, Scarpetta, in the US.
This year, she has starred in Netflix’s romantic comedy, A Family Affair, as well as the Netflix thriller series, A Perfect Couple, and series two of Special Ops: Lioness.
The actress recently discussed her struggle to take time for herself amid her schedule.
“It's very hard for me to go, 'Okay, I'm just going to take care of myself,’ because I'm so much about taking care of other people,” she told Variety last month.
“I'm thinking, ‘I can create more work for people. I can create jobs for people.’ And also, I love it. I have the passion.
“I've just got to take care of my body. I wish I had superpowers because I would love to be everywhere.”
