Nicolas Raskin urges importance of team spirit ahead of Rangers European tie

If Rangers are to pull off another big result in Europe against Olympiacos, they will need to stick together as a team, insists Nicolas Raskin.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed something of a renaissaunce at Ibrox under Philippe Clement over the past month or so.

He put in a man of the match performance as the Scottish Premiership side swept aside Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest with ease last time out in the Europa League.

Raskin and Connor Barron were dominant in midfield that night, which fired Rangers onto six points in the league face of UEFA's secondary club competition.

A tough trip to Athens lies in wait on Thursday night for Rangers.

However, Raskin is confident that he and his teammates can put in a sold performance both individually and collectively to achieve another three points.

"It is never fun when you are injured, especially because I had the same ankle injury two times.

"I was a bit sad at the time but we worked good with the medical staff and I’m back to being happy to be back on the pitch.

"A game like tomorrow night is a game that you need to do as a team. You can't do it if the team is not all together.

"So I think we first need to show a good team performance and then out of that we can maybe have some good individuality. But first of all, it's about getting a good team.

"We know expectations are high. We have those expectations also and we want to win every game.

"We know we've not had the results we wanted in the last couple of weeks but we're working hard.

"I think the way we play, we're trying to do something good. It's about being better in both boxes in some games but we're really calm with that.

"We know what we have to do and we're working hard. So with this mentality, we're going to improve day by day."

Rangers could jump into the top eight of the league phase with victory in Greece. This would see them on nine points.

Their next European match comes on Thursday, November 28 against Ligue 1 side Nice.
