SEATTLE - Elon Musk has been highly critical of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro following his government's decision to claim victory in the elections despite lack of transparent data. On Monday, Maduro picked up the glove and responded to Musk's claims by labelling him as as an "archenemy to the peace of Venezuela."
"Who controls virtual reality? Our new archenemy Elon Musk, who is desperate to come to Venezuela with his rockets and an army to invade Venezuela," Maduro said in an event that ratified Maduro as Venezuela's President after the July 28 elections. He added that Musk is trying to use his money and his satellites to control the world.
"He already controls Argentina, he is coming for Argentina's lithium. He already controls Ecuador. He is the representation of the fascist ideology in the world. Economic power endorsing the fascist ideology of the far-right," Maduro said.

Maduro, who has been in power since 2013, said that the ideology goes against nature and society, making Musk an "archenemy of the Venezuelan homeland."
In his speech, Maduro made reference to a publication sent out by Musk on his X account, where the Tesla CEO shared a video of people holding boxes that, supposedly, contained ballots. Maduro said that the publication accused him of "stealing the elections." The video was later taken down as readers added context that the boxes being stolen in the video were air conditioning units and not ballot boxes.
"Elon Musk, control yourself. You are desperate. You face-planted yourself. You are going to fail the same way all the other American lawmakers failed after following the far-right," Maduro said.
"Whoever messes with me, fails. Whoever messes with Venezuela, fails. You want to fight? Let's have it, Elon Musk. I am ready. I am the son of (Simón) Bolívar and (Hugo) Chávez," he added.
