Nicola Sturgeon wishes Rangers 'very best of luck' ahead of Europa League final

Nicola Sturgeon has joined calls by senior politicians wishing Rangers luck ahead of tonight’s Europa League final.

The Light Blues go head-to-head against Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville tonight in the club’s biggest match in over a decade.

Hours before kick off, the First Minister tweeted: “Wishing @RangersFC the very best of luck in Seville tonight! #EuropaLeagueFinal.”

The Glasgow side’s incredible run in Europe was also referenced at Westminster, where Labour leader Keir Starmer said the final was the culmination of an "extraordinary story" for Rangers.

At the beginning of Prime Minister's Questions, Boris Johnson asked colleagues to join him in wishing the Ibrox side success.

Ian Blackford, the SNP Westminster leader, added his best wishes, saying it was "always a joy to see Scottish clubs to get to the finals of European competitions".
