First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has paid tribute to a former Glasgow councillor Iris Gibson, who has died aged 84.
Gibson was a councillor representing wards in the Mosspark and Craigton areas for 16 years. She retired in 2015 due to ill health.
She replaced her son, Kenny, as a Glasgow councillor in 1999 when he was elected as an MSP.
Really sorry to hear this news. Iris was a powerhouse - a first class @theSNP councillor and passionate advocate for the communities she represented. She was also a lovely person and will be deeply missed. My condolences to Kenny and all the family. https://t.co/8aL28zmAAo
