Nicola Sturgeon has hailed the England Lionesses after their Euro 2022 win tonight - and joked you can always count on women to get the job done.
The First Minister Tweeted her congrats to the Women's team after they beat Germany 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.
She said: "Brilliant @lionesses
"And just goes to show…when you want something done (or in England speak, ‘brought home’)) ask the women!
"Many congratulations - well deserved champions!"
The team secured their first ever European Championship triumph with a hard-fought, extra-time victory after Chloe Kelly popped up in the box to score the winning goal in the 110th minute.
Crowds roared while cars tooted their horns near the 90,000-strong stadium as the team secured the first major tournament title for any England team since 1966.
Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar also congratulated the team on their victory.
He posted: "What incredible scenes. Congratulations @Lionesses
"You have inspired a generation.
"What incredible scenes. Congratulations!!"
