Nicola Sturgeon and Still Game star in attendance at Janey Godley's funeral

JANEY Godley's funeral is taking place in Glasgow on Saturday morning with a number of people in attendance.

The funeral was held at St Mary’s Cathedral on Great Western Road on after hundreds lined the streets as a hearse carrying her coffin travelled through the centre of Edinburgh on Friday.

It started at 10am, with the hearse set to leave the cathedral at 11.30am to make its way towards a crematorium, where a private service will then be held.

The comedian died on November 2 aged 63 after receiving palliative treatment for terminal cancer.

Writing on Godley's social media accounts, her daughter Ashley Storrie told fans "you're all welcome," adding: "It's what she wanted."

The comedian asked for bright colours to be worn instead of traditional funeral attire, as a way of celebrating her life.
