Nicola Peltz is reportedly suing the dog groomer who treated her beloved chihuahua Nala before it died.
The Transformers actress, 29, said her pet was fit and healthy before the appointment, but came out struggling to breathe and was dead within hours.
According to papers obtained by TMZ, Peltz has pointed the finger at HoundSpa dog groomer Jony Ceballos, alleging he has a history of “intentional and malicious abuse of dogs”.
The wife of Brooklyn Beckham further alleges Nala was left injured and in severe physical distress after being treated for a routine grooming in a HoundSpa mobile van.
Peltz additionally calls out HoundSpa owner Deborah “Deb” Gittleman, for continuing to keep Ceballos on the payroll despite there allegedly being past complaints about his mistreatment toward animals.
The heiress - who notes she treated the pet “like her own child” - says she has been left “emotionally distressed by the whole ordeal”, particularly witnessing Nala’s death after rushing her to the vet following the appointment.
Peltz claims her other dog, Angel, is also suffering in the aftermath of the grooming, reporting that the dog “shakes/screams from terror when left alone” now.
The Standard has contacted HoundSpa for comment.
She originally signalled her intentions to take further action over the death earlier this month on Instagram, writing: "This has been the hardest month of my life.
"I can't even find the words to describe my heartbreak on so many levels. Nala was perfectly healthy when she went to the groomers yesterday but came out hyperventilating and couldn't catch her breath.

In a second post with images of Nala, the daughter-in-law of David and Victoria Beckham said she is “relentlessly investigating the situation to find out exactly what happened in that groomer's van”.
“I am doing everything I can to uncover the truth,” she added.
