Hailing from families of huge fortune, and with a string of celebrities and fellow millionaires on their guestlist, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz could have been lavished with extravagant gifts on their wedding day.
Instead, the happy couple asked their guests to donate to help those affected by the crisis in Ukraine, rather than bestow them with costly presents.
The polite request was seemingly ignored by David Beckham's mother Sandra who couldn't resist treating her new granddaughter-in-law to a special something to commemorate her big day.
Days after the wedding, it has been revealed that doting grandmother Sandra called upon artist Adam Claridge to personalise a pair of Nike Air Force 1 trainers for the bride.
The shoes were customised with sentimental drawings and messages to Nicola as well as butterflies, roses and a replica of Brooklyn's cherub tattoo.
The word 'Bunny' is also visible on the shoes, which is the nickname given to Nicola's grandmother who acted as her Maid of Honour on the day.
Sharing a snap of the finished trainers, artist Adam told his Instagram followers he was "Honoured to have been asked to create these very special 1's for @nicolaannepeltzbeckham."
Other videos posted to social media showed the painstaking design process, with Adam copying a handwritten prayer to the leather in the same writing as Nicola's grandmother for an added personal touch.
Despite the thoughtful gift, Nicola opted to stick to tradition for the ceremony, and wore a pair of bridal heels with her Valentino couture gown.
The actress walked down the aisle with her billionaire father Nelson clad in a pair of white platform heels to meet groom Brooklyn, who was wearing a custom Dior suit.
In the run-up to his wedding, Brooklyn told his wife-to-be, Nicola how excited he was to wear his ensemble, that had been created for him by family friend Kim Jones.
"He couldn't wait for me to see it," Nicola told Vogue magazine.
Breaking their silence on their nuptials, Nicola and Brooklyn told how they had shunned a traditional wedding giftlist and instead asked their guests to donate to Ukraine.
In an emotional Instagram post after the three day extravaganza, Nicola penned: "My dad spoke about this in his wedding at our wedding. Me and Brooklyn are devastated about what is going on in Ukraine and have asked for donations to CareOrg in lieu of wedding gifts.
"Anything helps," she added.
The pair got engaged in 2020 after a whirlwind romance, with Brooklyn popping the question at a family party just months after meeting the US actress.
After postponing their wedding due to the pandemic, the lovebirds finally said 'I do' at the Peltz family estate in Malibu.
The grounds had been transformed with huge marquees for their guests which were then altered to host a post-wedding brunch the following day.
