Leeds boxer Nicola Adams and her girlfriend Ella Baig are expecting their first child together.

To go along with the pics Nicola wrote: “We're so excited to announce that our family is expanding. After what feels like a lifetime, we can finally say we're going to be parents!

"We're so excited to share this magical journey with you all, the ups, the downs, everything in between.

"Welcome to the world little one."

It isn’t the first time the pair have tried for a baby. The pair started their fertility journey with Ella in 2019 right after Nicole was forced out of BBC show Strictly Come Dancing with Covid.

Nicola took part in the hit show and made history as being one of the first same-sex couple with professional dancer Katya Jones.

Their first rounds of IVF failed and Ella unfortunately had a miscarriage after an undiagnosed underactive thyroid.

They had to wait months for her thyroid levels to reach a safe point to begin the process again.

But it's a case of third time lucky for the pair, as Ella is now in her second trimester.

Writing in Vogue, Nicola said: "We had two failed attempts in total. I was really upset.

"Of course, we knew that there was a chance of it being unsuccessful, but it's hard to see those two lines on a pregnancy test and feel elated before having that ripped from you just a few weeks later.

"I was also more upset for Ella as she was the one going through the process physically. You don’t really know what to say or do – you just have to be supportive."

As expected the comment section was flooded with support and sweet messages from fans and celebrity friends.
