Nicki Nicole's Father Passes Away in the Middle of Her International Tour

En español

Argentine singer-songwriter Nicki Nicole is going through a difficult time following the passing of her father, Sergio Cucco. He was a key supporter of her career and passed away at 56 in Rosario after battling a terminal illness.

Cucco was known not only as Nicki Nicole's father but also for his hardworking nature and impact on the Rosario community. He worked as a mechanic and taxi driver before opening a car wash that became a local landmark.

Cucco's biggest legacy, however, was the unconditional support he gave his youngest daughter, Nicole Denise Cucco, better known as Nicki Nicole.

Nicki Nicole in mourning

The singer was in Costa Rica at the time of his passing, meeting professional commitments after performing at the Picnic Festival Centroamérica.

According to local outlets Radio 2 and La Capital, his wake was held in Rosario in a private ceremony for close family. It remains unclear when Nicki will return to Argentina to be with her family.

Despite the loss, her professional commitments seem set to continue, including a concert on February 15 at Chile's Pichilemu Surfestival and performances at major events like Cosquín Rock 2025 and the Festival de la Manzana in Río Negro.

A proud father

Sergio Cucco constantly spoke of his pride in his daughter's success, who rose to fame with hits like 'Wapo Traketero' and collaborations with Bizarrap and Trueno.

"What's happening to her affects us all; we're very proud and happy," he said in a 2021 interview.

Together with Liliana Villella, Cucco raised four children—Micaela, Kevin, Guido, and Nicole— with Nicki being the youngest. From the start of her music career he was a constant pillar of support, encouraging her rise in the industry.

A painful February

February has marked difficult moments in Nicki Nicole's life. In 2024 she faced a highly publicized breakup when her then-partner, Peso Pluma, was caught on video holding hands with another woman after the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, leading to their split.

Now, in February 2025, she faces an even greater loss.
