Nick Viall criticizes Bachelor's Joey for not eliminating contestants authentically

In the world of reality television, there's always a lot of buzz surrounding the latest season of The Bachelor. And former lead Nick Viall is no stranger to sharing his thoughts and critiques. On a recent episode of his podcast, 'Viall Files,' Nick had a few things to say about season 28 star Joey Graziadei and his approach to sending contestants home.

One of Nick's main points was that Joey hasn't sent anyone home outside of the designated rose ceremonies. According to Nick, there hasn't been any dramatic or unexpected departures. He did acknowledge that Sydney Gordon's exit occurred during a two-on-one date, where the lead typically gives out just one rose. Joey chose to give the rose to Maria Georgas, leaving Sydney without a rose. However, Nick believes that Joey should be more proactive in eliminating contestants when he knows there isn't a connection.

Joey's tendency to wait until the rose ceremony to break a few hearts led Nick to claim that the bachelor is taking the easy way out. Nick argues that it's much easier to simply not give someone a rose rather than having a conversation with them and saying, 'You know what? You're not my person.' Nick believes that this approach is less authentic and doesn't allow for true clarity in the relationships being formed.

While Nick may have his reservations about Joey's approach, there are others who have nothing but praise for the current season. Bachelor Nation's Molly Mesnick spoke highly of Joey, calling him a 'fantastic Bachelor.' Molly commended Joey for actively listening to the women and asking follow-up questions to show his genuine interest.

The Bachelor has had a long and successful run on ABC, captivating audiences with its entertaining mix of romance and drama. This season's star, Joey Graziadei, has certainly created some discussion among fans and former leads alike. Whether one agrees with Nick's criticism or aligns with Molly's admiration, it's safe to say that this season has not been short on excitement.

Tune in to ABC on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET to catch the latest episodes of The Bachelor and see how Joey's journey unfolds.
