Nick Saban’s latest Aflac gig is a quirky ASMR ad attempting to soothe fans

Alabama football coach Nick Saban has added a new skill to his résumé: ASMR videos.

Oh yes, the Crimson Tide coach has partnered with Aflac to provide ASMR and advice on getting insurance.

The commercial in question quite literally features Saban doing an ASMR video in an attempt to soothe the audience… and promote Aflac. We aren’t kidding; this is a real thing that you can watch right now.

While Saban doesn’t seem super to into his new job assignment, he does get the message across that, indeed, Aflac is sponsoring the commercial. He also mentions the Aflac duck for good measure. See for yourself.

If you’re wondering what exactly ASMR is, it stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, and Vox explained the concept and why people enjoy it a few years ago:

ASMR is the term for the sensation people get when they watch stimulating videos or take part in other activities — usually ones that involve personal attention. Many people describe the feeling as “tingles” that run through the back of someone’s head and spine. Others say the feeling is deeply relaxing, and can even cause them to fall asleep.

Well, we certainly commend Saban for leaning into his more humorous side by doing Aflac-inspired ASMR video for all the viewers at home.

The sound of him opening the cookie might’ve not been the most, y’know, pleasant experience, but it’s all in a day’s work for college football’s most successful coach. We do wonder how the Aflac duck feels about this.
