Nick Knowles has compared the drama surrounding the Royal Family fallout from the Harry & Meghan docuseries as like a couple splitting up and their friends having to "pick a side".
The presenter, 60, has worked with Prince Harry, 38, and Prince William, 40. The brothers - who are the children of King Charles III, 74 - took part in a special DIY SOS in 2015.
He spoke about the family during an appearance on ITV 's Lorraine this morning. It came following the release of Netflix 's six-part docuseries about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, 41.
The interview saw Nick discuss meeting the two brothers some years ago, before commenting on the current situation which he described as "horribly sad".
He told host Lorraine Kelly, 63, on the ITV show earlier this morning: "It's hugely sad. When I knew them, they were amazing, they were amazing together. I liked them both."
Nick - who had also worked with Prince Harry on a TV documentary in 2016 - added that the brothers "knew that they were capable of doing amazing things" at the time.

Nick described the current situation as like a couple splitting up and the people in their life having to choose a side. And he said that both sides are being criticised.
He commented: "It feels at the moment like you know like your best friends who are a couple splitting up and you have to pick a side."
He said: "That's the trouble now. If you're on one side 'you're a racist,' if you're on the other 'you're destroying the establishment.' Picking sides at the moment casts you [as one of them]".
"The whole thing's so horribly sad," he added. Lorraine teased over the possibility of DIY SOS getting Prince Harry and older brother Prince William "back together".
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX from 9am.
All episodes of Harry & Meghan are available on Netflix.
