TV presenter Nick Knowles has revealed the reason he tore into the online trolls who criticised his girlfriend. The 59-year-old DIY SOS star was recently pictured with his partner Katie Dadzie whilst on a night out in London's swanky Mayfair, which lead to a number of "nasty things" being hurled her way on social media.
Knowles explained that while he was "fair game," having chosen to appear on television for a living, private mum-of-two Katie - who's 27-years his junior - was not in the spotlight and therefore didn't deserve the treatment she'd received. "I'm raging," he began on Twitter.
"The woman I was out to dinner with when we were papped is 32, has degrees in two subjects, runs three businesses, is a mother of two and is wealthier and more successful than me. And she is intelligent and independent, unlike the abusive trolls attacking her.

"I choose to be on TV. As a result, I expect the whole nine yards," he explained. "I am up there as an object. I’ve chosen to be on TV but my children, or my family, or people I date, for them I feel it’s unfair to have a go at them."
"What happened to #bekind?" he added, referencing the hashtag calling for a more sympathetic and caring online culture which followed in the wake of Love Island host Caroline Flack 's death two years ago. He also took particular exception to the suggestion Dadzie was only with him for his money.
"The implication is, because she is younger, she is only interested in me for the money or whatever. She owns property, has three businesses on the go, is wealthier than me.
"It is upsetting that they talk about people I am with." Indeed, one of Dadzie's companies is called Boa Boa, which sells lingerie and racy sex toys.
The other, Boobbix, sells lactation products for breastfeeding mums. The pair reportedly first met at their kids' playgroup, but it was years until they went on their first date together at a restaurant in Bath in August 2021.
Prior to that Knowles was linked to previously linked to PR exec Emily Hallinan - who was 30 years younger than him - and the pair dated for a year before calling it quits in 2020. He also enjoyed a brief romance with beauty therapist Paula Beckett-Vass - with whom he shares a son called Tyrian-J - and was married to his first wife Gillian Knowles for five years from 1995.
The couple share two grown-up children together - Charlie, 27, and daughter Tuesday, 26. Knowles also has seven-year-old Edward who he shares with his former wife Jessica.
